We also heard our children's choir sing Do Lord and our Adult Choir sing two beautiful anthems. All in all a very inspiring morning of worship!Rev Honeyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07040037780967472070noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-14710344.post-61023414197472054462008-11-02T18:19:00.000-05:002008-11-02T18:19:00.000-05:00We sang/heard the two you mentioned - choir sang "...We sang/heard the two you mentioned - choir sang "For All the Saints" to conclude time of remembrance and prayer for saints (living and dead) in our "cloud of witnesses". Worshipers wrote names on bell-ed ribbons and pinned them to the banner I made (looked cool with even more ribbons than this "dry run" before I glued the letters on). I then prayed and the choir sang.

We sang "I Sing a Song..." for the closing hymn, but since it was communion and there was lots going on in other parts of worship, we only sang one more as a congregation - - "Holy God, We Praise Your Name". I have no idea who the people are in the video, but the version was beautiful! A not-well-known (at least not in my non-Catholic circles) favorite of mine. It really worked with the Rev. 7 reading for All Saints.Stephanie Anthony/She Revhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/10089531643725874239noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-14710344.post-40329160848463477592008-11-02T16:10:00.000-05:002008-11-02T16:10:00.000-05:00We had no sermon today, instead the chamber choir ...We had no sermon today, instead the chamber choir (16 auditioned members) sang Morton Lauridsen's LUX AETERNA, with an introduction by the choir director highlighting some of the musical aspects. Beautiful! Also had a euphonium playing ON EAGLES' WINGS, not my favorite piece but much better on euphonium than the screecky soprano of too many Minnesota funerals! The congregation sang FOR ALL THE SAINTS and WHEN THE SAINTS GO MARCHING IN, and we got to join in on the introit, "Gathered here in the mystery of this hour" with the last rep in canon. I do love some canon singing.Auntie Knickershttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08854138665883068803noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-14710344.post-36908034244764719242008-11-02T15:21:00.000-05:002008-11-02T15:21:00.000-05:00I can never get the links to imbed either. thanks ...I can never get the links to imbed either.

thanks for this selection MB - hope you had a blessed All Saints Day.
