RevGal Friday Five: Snow Day

In honor of the first good snow I’ve seen this year, a Snow Day edition of the Friday Five:

1) Snow: love it or hate it?

2) First snow memory

3) Best Snow Day ever (actual or imagined)

4) Best use of snow in a movie, song, book or poem

5) What you are planning to do today, with or without snow

  1. Fun! I did it too with the added bonus of a picture of The Boy and his first snow.

  2. I'm heading over to my place to do it now! Thanks!

  3. You're discriminating against us Southerners, Songbird :-)

No snow, no way, no how! Which is fine, actually. After spending four years in college at Snowbound Ivy League U., that's fine with me!

  4. Gosh, QG, you and I are almost the reverse. After 4 years in hot, steamy, bug-infested southern college (plus 6 more years out) I escaped and shall not go back to the land of No Snow.

  5. I've done mine now. I'm a Southerner who likes snow.

  6. Snow is part of life in Finland

    1) Snow: love it or hate it?
I like the snow. It makes the dark days here much lighter. And I love the way the advent lights reflect on it. I also love the reflections on the river when it freezse though we arent there yet.

    2) First snow memory
I was 3. In London UK. Biggest amount of snow in decades Dad bought a little plastic sledge (unheard of in those days - well this was 1963!) and pulled me along delivering Christmas presents and cards ... in LONDON

    3) Best Snow Day ever (actual or imagined)
I think that one I described would take some real beating! Making a real snow castle with my kids one winter - one we could climb into - was terrific too.

    4) Best use of snow in a movie, song, book or poem

    5) What you are planning to do today, with or without snow

I was at our late pastors funeral. The graveyard looked beautiful as the sun shone weakly and reflected on the snow. But it was cold -8 C with a very icy wind blowing.

  7. Ironic questions, since I just came in from shoveling the stuff. Okay, I posted too. Good questions!

  9. QG .... she's ALSO discriminating against those of us that got scammed out of the blizzard that hit every neighboring municipality but completely missed our little neighborhood.

Not that I'm bitter about not getting my snow day (OK, I'm still very bitter), but I did this one anyway.

  10. Who, me?!? Discriminating?
I did put in that thing about imagining a snow day, plus that thing about culture, and the one about what you were going to do today.

  11. Mine would be up now. As is a quote about a successful marriage I tend to like.

  12. Done with scarf around neck.

  13. Done - probably different than most of yours....some of you might be envious, others might want to think me deprived...
