Saturday K to Z Review

Happy weekend, folks. Here is your Saturday morning K through Z review of the blogring. Mary Beth is out of town and will post the A through L review later today. Mary Beth's mother just had surgery and she went to help her sister with her. Traveling mercies, Mary Beth!

First, a big Howdy and Welcome to four new bloggers who joined RevGalsBlogPals this week. Stop by and say hello to A. Lin at Longing for Home, Amandita at The Mystical Postulant, Willow at Tierra y Cielo and Walk Humbly. And that's just in the latter half of the blogroll!

Songbird's Friday Five: Practice Makes Perfect Meme drew a lot of players, but not many in the latter half of the alphabet. Check out the comments on her post below and link to many thoughtful posts on the subject.

Since this is the weekend of the Academy Awards, I'm inviting you to participate in the St. Stephen Theological Awards for the movies here. Take this idea to your Oscar Night party!

Political affairs are preoccupying Philosophy Over Coffee, who writes about a proposed bill before the Missouri legislature that would make Christianity that state's official "majority religion" in order to "protect the majority's right to express their religious beliefs." St. Cassarole is distressed by Mississippi's recent enactment of restrictive abortion legislation. And Natty offers an explanation.

Those of you looking for help for your sermon can check out Joel's notes on this Sunday's Gospel reading from the lectionary. Or if your church is looking for marketing ideas, check out Reverend Mommy's link to St. Andrew's TransEucharist. Hilarious!

This week's Original Poetry Blogging Award goes to ~drumroll, please~ Steph for her creative take on Bloggers' Block. You really must read this! Also,Lutheran Chik posted a lovely poem by Christina Rossetti titled Better Resurrection.

Random topics department: Looking Backward can't say no. Susan Rose tries to catch the wind with her digital camera with some great results! Suburban Dawn is the subject for James' photography. Micah Girl is taking the self-challenge. The sounds of progress delight Pink Shoes. Amy is distressed by how distressed she is that She's Got No Mail. Caroline would like your comments on Donald Miller.

Congratulations to Henry who just announced his engagement here. Best wishes to you and Heather!

One of the best things about the blogring is its international flavor. Thanks to Revem for introducing us to the Lamington--a staple of Aussie church fundraising. Go thou and bake likewise!

Fun and Games Department: this week there were lots of bloggers posting the What State/Countries Have You Visited maps. The latest to this party was NotShyChiRev.

T-t-that's ALL, Folks! Additions, corrections? Use the comments, please.

And a blessed First Sunday in Lent to each and every one.
