Wednesday Festival - All Over the Place

What with my energy level bottoming out and my capacity for focus at nil, I don't have what it takes to put together a coherent Easter Season Wednesday Festival.  I have decided to proceed as if my restlessness is a good thing, and am roaming far and wide in both geography and topic in search of reading material.

Sally is in North Yorkshire, posting evocative poetic meditations in Eternal Echoes.  You'll want to scroll back through several posts, so the link is to her blog as a whole.  Prose often seems inadequate to Holy Week, but Sally is able to break past its limitations in ways about which others of us can only dream.

The Questing Parson reminds us from northwest Georgia that God didn't mention anything about numbers when God called us to preach ~ an excellent point in these post-Easter Sunday weeks.  Or, for some of us, during any and all weeks.

Rosa continues to chronicle the challenges of life from Fort Lauderdale in Cenizas, Estelas, y Senderos.  Sounds blissfully seaside-y, doesn't it? Not always, not exactly.  Blend a two-priest marriage, an established but aging congregation and a young Hispanic congregation living in tension and grace together, and a daughter whose personal struggles and needs demand every ounce of creativity and good will her parents can muster and, if you are Rosa,  the result is some of the most beautiful writing you will find anywhere.  Start here and then scroll backward and forward for a look at the multiple strands of a God-drenched life.

I don't know much about Corfu, but I've learned a little, thanks to Anita of Dreaming Beneath the Spires, who is there on holiday.  You might like to start with her beach walk,  but be sure and take a look at her several other posts from this trip.  And then go to her About Me page; she started life in India and has traveled and lived and studied in all kinds of places!

And finally there's this one, one of my favorite posts of the last month or so.  It has nothing to do with the fact that Marci lives in Idaho, except that maybe it does ~ maybe the wide spaces of the west encourage the expansive freedom with which she writes, this time to encourage unnaming.

Enjoy, and feel free to add your own links if you'd like to bring something in particular to our attention.  Especially if you're visiting or living  in South America, Africa, or Asia, so that we can expand the roll call here!
