RevGal Friday Five: Hair

As I spend the day wielding my trusty TermiNITor, it seems only right to ask you for stories of hair, whether it be yours or that of others.

1) Do you like your hair?

2) Have you ever colored your hair? If not, would you consider it?

3) What's the longest you've ever worn your hair? The shortest?

4) When and what was your worst. haircut. ever?

5) Tell us a favorite song or scene from a book or movie dealing with hair.

Be safe out there. And try to stay nit-free.

Let us know in the comments if you play.

  4. I played! I'm happy to say that I've never had to deal with a lice comb. At least not yet.

  5. Oh, my. We had a cozy relationship with the nit comb in California, where it's an annual Fall ritual. We finally switched to tea tree oil, though, instead of the nasty chemical stuff in the drugstore for topical treatment.

I'm heading over now to play...

  6. 1) Do you like your hair?
    Yes I do.

    2) Have you ever colored your hair? If not, would you consider it?

when I started going grey I coloured it - but I didn't like doing it (the smell of the chemicals andthe expense!) One summer I decided to grow it out. Horrible to do, but then the result when I then had it cut was really good. I was very pleased. One mum in school even SAID she thought I looked 10 years younger!

I doubt I'll ever colour my hair again. But who knows?

    3) What's the longest you've ever worn your hair? The shortest?

I have mostly had long hair. Even down to my waist. It grows really really fast.

Right now it's the shortest it's ever been. (slightly shorter than in the stf photo- I was at the hairdressers on Tuesday) I'm tempted to have it shaved once - just to see ! TS wants us both to do it this summer. What do you think? I think I COULD do it.

    4) When and what was your worst. haircut. ever?

I've never had a bad haircut. I think the best I had done was in Australia last February. I really liked it then.

    5) Tell us a favorite song or scene from a book or movie dealing with hair.

Book: When Katherine (mistress/wife of John of Gaunt) cut off her hair in penitance and went to Walsingham on pilgrimage.

Film: In Sophie's choice / Schindler's List - the shaved heads of the women. And their haunting eyes.

Stories of teenage kids (esp girls) shaving their heads in sympathy for a friend who is undergoing chemo really touch me.

I suppose from all this you might think that I'm a bit vain about my hair. I think though it's more that I'm blessed with it. It requires no attention and looks ok -even good-anyway. That's a blessing.Trust me.

  10. I played as well. Doing my part to prove men can be vain about their hair. Also, the entry includes a rare un-doctored pic of your correspondent.

  13. Check back at my place this evening.

You won't believe it, but I have a draft of a post about hair that I've just never found an opportunity to use. This meme is better.;-) And I just got an unusually good haircut -- playing hair-salon Russian roulette, no less -- so I'm happy to talk about my hair this week. LOL

  15. spidey,
    you are funny.
I'm too boring to play this meme. my hair is the same today, yesterday and tomorrow. Boring. Never really colored. Just greyer from a few years ago. Same hair style. Boring. I will look for a photo, though.

  16. Lord knows, I do not have preacher hair. It is far too big and fluffy and distracting.

  20. I have played. Boy, now that you mention it, I could use a haircut! I know it's time when my sweetie says, "I just love your hair now that you're letting it grow out." that = straggly. A lovely man with an odd idea of attractive coiffure.

  21. I'm a bit late to the party, but I played, too.

  22. I joined the party this week. Songbird, I only have one memory of the awful combing party that you're having this week. One is one too many. You have my sympathy!
