We are in the throes of what will (hopefully) be the final set of braces in this family, and so my mind is on the tooth, the whole tooth and nothing but the tooth.

Just a clarification:
Subacute Bacterial Endocarditis (see my blog for its application to the Friday Five)can be caused by a bacterial infection that enters the body through the gums. I attributed the occurance of this in my brother in law from all the hands in his mouth when he had braces...
he is mostly fine now--just has an artificial heart valve that's near 15 years old...
Does anyone remember MacCleans toothpaste? or McCleans? Help me out.
