1. How did you celebrate this time of year when you were a child?
2. Do you and/or your family “celebrate” Halloween? Why or why not? And if you do, has it changed from what you used to do?
2. Candy apples: Do you prefer red cinnamon or caramel covered? Or something else?
3. Pumpkins: Do you make Jack O’ Lanterns? Any ideas of what else to do with them?
4. Do you decorate your home for fall or Halloween? If so, what do you do? Bonus points for pictures.
5. Do you like pretending to be something different? Does a costume bring our an alternate personality?
Bonus: Share your favorite recipe for an autumn food, particularly apple or pumpkin ones.

ReplyDeleteIn our house, this time of year is equally about Reformation Sunday. Hard to decorate for that, though. (The 95 Theses on my front door would provoke some interesting neighborhood discussion.)

ReplyDeleteI loved Halloween. When I was little we'd go trickrtreating down my home street. One man worked for the Wonder bakery and always had tiny loaves of wrapped Wonder bread. What fun.
ReplyDeleteThen there was the year when I dressed in my best villager outfit in the 60's and went as a hippie in disguise.
then there was the time I pinned water balloons to my bra and they dangled down under my shirt and went as a has-been roller derby queen.
....
oh and I dressed like a hippie and read palms at church and all the kids left with the same secret message.. When you find what it is you really want to do with your life and prepare for that you'll be a blessing to the wrold.
ha ah
have fun...
and not toooooo much snacking on those little candies.
