This is the scenery from where I live in the Great Sinkholes region of the Northeast. The days have been in the 70s and the nights in the 40s. The Autumnal Equinox has come and this year's leaves promise to be BEE-YOU-TEE-FULL!! I have every reason to praise the Creator for where I am!
On to the first Wednesday Festival of the fall season!
Sunny B's husband made this video for her. She says, "My dear husband captured a moment last Sunday at a baptism in the river. These baptisms in the lake and river, that are so vital to our community, are totally life-giving for me. Getting to baptize one of the youth I work with makes all that hard work in seminary worth it!" Yes, I know how you feel, Sunny!
Songbird suggests a round-up of posts from the ring about the Gospel Today magazines being hidden under the counter of Lifeway bookstores: Reverend Mommy, Jan Edmiston at A Church for Starving Artists, Shuck and Jive, Melissa Hatfield at Wonderings and Wanderings, Feminary, Pinkhammer , Debra Haffner, and St. Casserole. Oh, for the day when the gifts of all God's called will be honored and celebrated!
"I haven't sent anything in awhile, but this one seemed worth passing along," shares Milton from Don't Eat Alone. Thanks, Milton!
Michelle from Quantum Theology says, "I wrote a bit for the Sunday Afternoon Music Video on Psalm 139 two weeks ago. Neither the psalm, nor the grief of another, would let me go, so I ended up writing this piece (which was published in my dioceses newspaper on Thursday). Congrats, Michelle!
Sally shares a poem on grace and some thoughts on Lay work as a calling. Good stuff! Check it out!
The Vicar of Hogsmeade has gotten some extra fabulous news! Whoot!
And finally, I am officially official! That's not me in the picture. I look more like the Michelin Man! But this is my secret to de-stressing.
I'm off to light a fire in the fireplace and brew up a cuppa of hot apple cider with a cinnamon stick addition!
If you have an addition to today's Wednesday Festival, you can leave it in the comments!
Ta!
