Sunday Afternoon Music Video: Splendid Isolation


When this is posted, and for the next 4 weeks, I'll be away from home, keeping silence while making the Spiritual Exercises of St. Ignatius. I briefly thought about posting this video of John Cage's famous piece 4' 33". Instead, I found this combination of dance and exquisite polyphony to be even more evocative of what I'm listening for/to/with on my retreat than Cage. The dance company is Alvin Ailey II and the accompaniment is from Trio Mediaeal - a Norwegian group. (Listen to their Song of Mary here...)

Keep me in prayer these days, as I will all of you!

    I have made two silent retreats in my ten years of ministry. Both have been so helpful for my soul. May yours be a blessing to you Michelle.
