Wednesday Festival: Beginnings, Middles, and other things

Widening Circles is, after a long hiatus, moving forward in the process of discernment toward ordination! Please keep her in your prayers.

It’s commencement time…please keep seminarians Elastigirl and Rev-to-be-Mibi in your prayers as they finish seminary and look forward to their futures in ministry, the job market, etc. (Elastigirl is finishing a seminary class AFTER graduation by heading off to Iona the day after commencement…! now that's sweet...)

Any other RevGals starting or finishing school? Don't want to miss a Sa-LUTE! to anyone. Let us know in the comments! Also, I know of several high school and college graduations in ring members' families; if you are writing about that, let us share in the good news!

Sally shares a poem and a grand ministry story .

Rev. Joelle marks a terrible anniversary, that of the ICE raids in Postville, IA and the human crisis that continues as a result.

I've been to visit my childhood library and learned a big story that I never heard, but that was in front of me all the time.

What other stories do you have to share? Remember that you can nominate a post for the Fest by emailing wednesdayfestival@gmail.com.

Blessings on your each and every day!

  2. Hi Mary Beth. (I'm not a member yet 'cos I haven't really started blogging properly) but I do have RevGalPals on my blogfeed so catch up with you most days. I'm an Anglican ordinand at seminary in Cambridge. There are a dozen amazing women here who graduate and then are ordained in June. After living in community with them all for two years, I'll really miss them. Blessings to all those, both sides of the Atlantic, who have been obedient! May God use us all mightily.

  3. I ask about Commuting With God as a spiritual practice--pop over and share your experience and wisdom and ideas and struggles! I'd really appreciate it.
    Thanks!

  4. Thank you so much for the mention. The funny thing is that I was going to ask you to include my request for prayers in the Wednesday Festival but I didn't get to around to it yet. The Spirit at work I guess. I had my first meeting with my parish discernment committee last night. It was a really good meeting, but I'm finding this process to be more than a little scary, so please do hold me in the Light.

  5. Huzzahs to Elastigirl and Rev-to-be! I'm a year behind you... so close. And yet so far.

I wrote a post on Running Gunk Free which is a commentary on what I am learning about living in God's grace and limits for my life.

    peace out
    Deb
