Wednesday in Holy Week: Spy Wednesday

Spy Wednesday is an old and uncommon name for the Wednesday of Holy Week, which commemorates Judas’ agreement to betray Jesus (see Matthew 26:3-5, 14-16).

  1. Speaking of "Spy Wednesday" I have a an excerpt from a sermon suggesting that we are more like Judas than we care to admit

  3. I've never heard of "spy Wednesday" before, but I did talk about Judas at our Eucharist this evening.

I wish I felt more ahead of the game, but as usual I am running to stay caught up--not helped by having recurring problems with my work computer. Tomorrow night is foot washing and stripping of the altar, then GF liturgy, then the Vigil, then Easter Sunday...four sermons left to write--or finish--a couple are started.

I have to say that I've been pleased with people's participation during Lent and so far in Holy Week. Not huge numbers but a steady group of faithful attenders, all who have responded positively to what's been offered--and it has been a very full schedule.
