Sunday Afternoon Music Video: Suite Antique
It's the end of the semester, and predictably, my life is chaos. This was the closing for the funeral of a friend's husband yesterday. I found it soothing to my soul, but also loved the hints of joy's to come hidden in the flute arpeggios.
What burbled joy in the music you heard today? What soothed your soul? Share with us in the comments -- I certainly could use both recommendations for pieces full of calm and joy!

The kids sang Seek Ye First for Mother's Day at church and Katie warbled the gentle alleluias all the way home! And the choir sang Matthias' setting of Julian's "As Truly as God is our Father" (...so truly is God our Mother, etc.) Awesome!
ReplyDeleteSad part was the intended At the Lamb's High Feast We Sing, from EldestDaughter's funeral on this her baptismal day, was accidentally printed in the bulletin and thus sung as Songs of Thankfulness and Praise. Both to the lovely tune of Salzburg, but the first is Easter words and the second Epiphany words which we already sang then!
