Friday Five: To Do Lists

Ever since I was little, I heard that Santa is making a list and checking it twice. I can see why he has to keep checking it, because there is so much to do before Christmas! Only nine days left, and I don't have church services to plan, but there is much left to be done. My daughter-in-law tells me that she feels behind, which is how I have been feeling.

No matter how organized you are, there must be some things you still need to do. For this Friday Five, tell us five things on your Christmas "To Do" List. Include anything you have decided to skip doing this year. As a bonus, give us something that helps you remember why this season even exists.

As always, leave a link to your blog post in the comments section. Go here to find out how to do this.

  2. Just realized that this is the kids' last day of school, so any gift wrapping needs to get done today.

We normally send out Christmas cards to 150 people, but this year, we just haven't gotten around to it. We fully intended to. And I'm wondering if I will.

We also need to clear an office area out of our family room to make room for the ping pong table currently residing in a box in the garage.

In terms of church things, we're in pretty good shape. Need a Christmas Eve sermon, but bulletins are done through Christmas Day.

Blessings to all of you in your preparations!

  3. Well, since my list would start with: Begin to think about buying Christmas gifts - I don't think I should be playing the Friday Five!

  5. Love it! Last night while crossing things off my list I saw that someone had left their list behind by the cash register. It included, "boxing gloves and doll for Emily". Perfect!

Pretending to work at church right now, wrapping some presents to ship off to other places later and trying to stay focused because to be honest - I am getting EXCITED!

  9. I got a digital letter out this year, for the first time in a while.

    2. Still need to do sermon for Sunday and bulletins for Christmas Eve.

3.Still need to do LOTS of cleaning.

    4. Still have gift and grocery shopping to do, and wrapping.

    5. Trying to get a handle on my depression and not take it out on my kids and husband.

I'm having a really hard time this year - don't really see or feel God's light at all. Really need some pinpoint of advent light right now.

    4. haven't sent cards for a few years, I now don't even try to fit it in.
    5. because we live away from family, we have Christmas on our own - just 2 of us - which is lovely after the business and partying leading up to Christmas. it gives me space to sense the peace and joy of Christmas.
