For this Friday Five, what makes you smile? Remembering that Meister Eckhart said that if you pray "thank you" that that is enough of a prayer, share with us five things, memories, or activities that bring you smiles and gratitude.
Of course, let us know if you've played. Although my computer never lets me spell out the formula as would be helpful, I suggest that you go here to find out how to do it!
I was quite taken by the quote, as I will be 60 this summer and for the first time ever am thinking about a birthday as a significant milestone. I didn't know who Marie Stopes (1880-1958) was, so I googled her: Scotswoman, scientist, and pioneer in women's reproductive heal. Quite an extraordinary woman.
ReplyDeleteRobin, thanks for looking her up! I was struck by her quote, because my mother always told me that you inherit your face until your 40's or so and after that you have the face you MADE! That's what Marie Stopes was saying, too.
DeleteFun ff! I played here!
ReplyDeleteI played with photos and a song in my heart. :)
ReplyDeleteI love the quote and all it contains! I used to follow this blog 'religiously' but have encountered some spiritual difficulties and have withdrawn from many of the contacts I used to follow. Struggling now to resurface, i looked at this blog today and thought: 'that's just what I need.. a reminder that I do have reasons to smile!' Today's reason: the purring of my cats as they snuggle with me when I sleep.
ReplyDeleteThe thought of your kitties purring next to you makes me smile today, too.
DeleteGlad you are here today, RevSue!
DeleteHi RevSue, thanks for visiting! and I agree: cats.

ReplyDeleteHi Scott, once again my comment didn't take on your blog, so here it is here: "I love your gratitude; thanks and peace! (PS What Margaret said...)"
DeleteStill smiling. Thanks Jan. When You're Smiling....

ReplyDeleteThanks, love the quote. I'm smiling because my two airedales are sleeping on the couch one on each side of me.
