Friday Five: Keeping My Cool

Ahhhhh... Just a few short months ago, we were shoveling snow. Today, we're sweating buckets!

Highs in the 90s. Humidity in the "uncomfortable" range. And air quality in the "red" zone. It's summer here in the Washington, DC Metro area, and I'm not really a fan.

Recognizing that RevGalBlogPals are from around the world, your weather may be different. But play along and tell us how YOU beat the heat when it's in season with this week's Friday Five.

Tell us your favorite:

1. Cool treat
2. Cool drink
3. Cooling-off place
4. Cool clothes
5. Best alternative to air-conditioning

Share a photo of your favorite hot weather "chill out" spot.

Share your link in the comments so that we can see what works for you. :) Here's some easy directions on how to do it!

  1. 1. Banana Split
    2. Fruit Smoothie
    3. at the movies
    4. swimsuit
5.go shopping or just walk around the mall.

  2. Replies
    1. Great picture and great play. Loved the image of the open car.

  3. Fun! Here's a quick play - temp is in the 30Cs here (high 80s):

    1. Sorbet - some kind of tropical fruit.
    2. Daytime - sparkling water. Evening - mojito
    3. Swimming pool !
    4. I have a great pair of loose white cotton trousers that I love. (As I have very fair skin, I need to keep covered)
    5. Shade of a tree. Failing that, right now I'm at my desk in my dining room with doors open to both sides of the house to get some coolish air moving about. Oh yes, I also rinse my hair with cold water and let it air dry.

    1. Ditto on the swimming pool--or maybe a cold northern lake.

    2. I'm with you - I look at the sun and I burn and peel, so those cool cotton trousers sound perfecto! :)

  4. I chilled out over at signs-along-the-way.

  5. It's completely comfortable here in DC today. Go figure. Ah... but summer will be back! Here's my play!

  6. I'm on my way to an interview - will be back to check in with your posts later! Chillin'!

  7. Thanks, Deb, for the early post. Brrr!
