Promoting the Book! some ideas...

I have sent e-mails announcing the publication of A Light Blazes in the Darkness to my friends, my family, the Daughters of the King Yahoo! group, and my local DOK chapter. Our DOK president offered to ask our church bookstore to stock some :) and to ask the priest to put it in the announcement sheet for the next few weeks!

Yoweee!

  2. Additional idea--I wrote an article about the book that will be published in the Nov/Dec issue of our presbytery's newsletter. That will reach all the PCUSA churches in southeast Texas. Maybe some of you can get an announcement in your church or regional governing body newsletters as well.

  3. I saw your announcement on the DOK list! Bet you didn't know there was a fellow blogger on that list!

  4. Good idea, but not so much for those of us who are anonymous...perhaps it's time to reconsider!

  5. As a non-rev, I have the luxury to self-disclose. I think I notified enough people today to cover a bunch of us! :)

  6. yeah you sure did.

I spoke about the book here too - reaction from one friend ... "But it's in English !" Didn't know whether to laugh or cry.

    Ofcourse it's in English!! (grin)

My blog isn't anonymous - but I haven't actually advertised it locally - mostly because of the need to rant too, but I think that's about to change (not the ranting - I think that 's a fixed feature) But this devotional is a push for me to stop being so carefully invisible.

  7. I do not choose to be so anonymous on my blog-- even my bishop is an occasional reader!-- so I sent out an email announcement and explanation to the clergy in our diocese over a listserv we maintain here. I'll let you know if I hear anything from that.

Seeing as how at least three alums are contributors, I'm also sending a note to our seminary!
