Yesterday's A to K

Lots of players for the RevGals Friday Five. You may see the players in the comments to that post. I have found more and more of those little phrases coming up from my unconscious in the last few days! :)

WyoChaplain has had a wonderful ordination (Saturday). Thanks be to God! Look forward to hearing about it.

TammyJo reports in on a case of dodgeball rage. This, in a nutshell, is why I avoid dodgeball. AND she has just 40 days until seminary graduation!

StarvingArtists ponders the church as megacorporation: The easiest kind of relationship for me is with ten thousand people. The hardest is with one. -Joan Baez

Mary's new Joseph-neƩ-Osiris kitty is making himself at home. What a wonderful metaphor for God's grace: when a rescue animal settles in after all the slings and arrows of outrageous fortune.

Ciona is considering that funny pre-marital tradition of registering at Target.

Brick Wall is joining the Lent effort - never too late! - and shares a poem.

Anna thinks about the Annunciation and John Donne. Kathryn shares some John Donne, too.

In the Daylight Savings Time area - Peter's woken up in the dark. (Yep, I hate that. And how can it possibly be 7:20 pm already as I write this!) Gord is fighting with Blogger because IT has gone on DST but he has not. Sue reminds us that this is also the day to change smoke alarm batteries!

Katherine's got some sharp new glasses. Terry's having glasses woes and explains about the economics of frames. (Buy the cheap ones).

BethQuick's looking at stress and how it impacts our lives and health. Any coping techniques you have, go over & see her.

Mindy, who is God's way of keeping my creativity around, has a CONTEST for you to play in.

Blanket in the Grove has a newly 8-year old and has been the Cupcake Mom.

Chaplain Mom gives thanks that God is holding us.

Cheesehead's had a co-celebrator at her Eucharistic table.

Have you been waiting to hear from CleverTitle about viewing the eclipse from the Egypt/Libya border? Well, today's the day! "It was the most amazing thing I have ever seen. In four minutes and a few seconds, it was over. The moon moved a bit, a sliver of light came through and then it was like sunrise, only faster. The men were shouting 'allah akbar!' again. "

Tripp has been sick, but is getting better. That's especially important for you cantors, pre-Holy Week. Sally tells about a retiring friend of amazing encouragement.

FROM THE TRAVEL DESK:
Erin's been to Stillwater, Oklahoma for fun and games, and Sarah's just left for New Orleans; she'll be back for Palm Sunday. Watch that space for updates.

HeyJules is reading the Seven Storey Mountain, deliberately. As in, instead of galloping through it.

Cats has had a birthday and writes beautifully about her wonderful mom.

It's not too late to play in the Caption Contest at Leslee's. Girl's big event was Friday - HOW DID IT GO?

Emily's pondering the perfect Sunday afternoon nap. Me, I think that today (change to DST) was the ideal inaugural day!) HeavyRevvy has taken a nap, too, and been to the grocery store. Love that first of the month wallet.

Basketball is all the rage at Jo(e)'s place.

And finally - Thanks for your indulgence in my putting off this update. Our party went well and we accomplished both missions: to have a fun time and food with friends, and to discuss the possibility of forming an ensemble to do a sung Compline regularly (probably monthly). It's in the works, and I'm thrilled. My DH used to sing with the St. David's Austin Compline group, which is truly amazing. My participation in this will not be vocal (I've not got that kind of a singing voice) but verbal...as in promotional. I'm sure you'll get to hear more about it at my place.

Blessed are you!
