Calling All Younger RevGals!

The Young Clergywomen Project is pleased to present a preaching conference to be held this summer, August 6-10, at The Cathedral College (College of Preachers) in Washington, DC. The conference is entitled Preaching As Testimony: A Conference for Women Preachers
under the Age of Forty. The keynote speaker is Anna Carter Florence. Several RevGals have been involved in the planning of this conference.

The generosity of the Louisville Institute has made itpossible to offer substantial scholarships for women who would not otherwise be able to attend. The scholarships are primarily for those
that are ordained (or serving pastorally in denominations that don't ordain due to gender or sexual orientation) and who are 35 and under, although if funds remain after serving the target group, others may apply.

For more information about the conference, (or to register!) check out the Cathedral College Conference page.

For more information about the scholarships, contact youngclergywomen@gmail.com

We hope to see many younger RevGals there!

I loved those young whipper-snapper ("Is she old enough to be a pastor?" days)

  6. Whoohoo! I'm sick of being the youngest one at EVERY meeting, class, convoction, etc... Perhaps I shall have to inquire about the scholarships, cause um 750 clams is a lot of money...

  9. I am beyond excited about this, and about the...umm, attention isn't the right word, but kind of is...that young clergy women are receiving. sometimes i feel pretty alone out here. but that could be because not only am I the youngest clergyperson in my presbytery by 9 years, I'm also one of maybe 8 women in our geographically large presbytery. so an opportunity like this is truly fantastic. thanks!

  10. Friends, it would really truly be fabulous if those of you that aren't eligible to go or able to go could help me out by send this url to any young ordained (or ineligible due to gender or sexual orientation) women that you know. It would be a great way to let those women know that you notice them and support them!
