When I began work here at Downham Market a wise friend told me that after one year I would see a few changes and sense God at work- years two and three would cause me to question and to wonder why I had chosen to accept the post here and in year four I might see the beginnings of something new.
And so with that in mind alongside yesterdays celebrations I bring you Friday 5 Looking back, looking forward..
1. Share a moment/ time of real encouragement in your journey of faith
2. Do you have a current vision / dream for your work/ family/ministry?
3.Money is no object and so you will.....
4. How do you see your way through the disappointments? What keeps you going?
5. How important are your roots?
6. Bonus= what would you like to add ?
Let us know in comments if you play. If you're feeling up to it, post a direct link to your blog entry in your comment using the following formulation:
what you want the link to say goes here

ReplyDeleteI played right here.
I'm actually in the first ten! Here's my appropriately postdated post.
ReplyDeleteFiesta Ware
ReplyDeleteanybody have some to spare?
mompriest you may be first, but i am in the game too. Roots and Wings
ReplyDeleteyes, thought-provoking. If I can remember how (after a week off) I played here
ReplyDeleteOoh, good one...made me do some good reflecting - and I never miss a chance to tell my Israel story. I played here
ReplyDeleteWow you all are fast! I thought I would be one of the early birds today!
ReplyDeleteI played here
Here's my thought-provoking Friday Five!
ReplyDeleteTalk about timely; thanks, Sally! Could not have been better for where I am this evening (and where I am in my life).
ReplyDeleteMy reflections on the adventure are here
ReplyDeleteFriday on Thursday. I LOVE it!! I used 126 words when 18 would have done here
ReplyDeleteIt was Friday in the UK when I posted this- honestly it was!!!!
ReplyDeleteSome great plays so far- truly inspirational!
I too have played here
1. Share a moment/ time of real encouragement in your journey of faith
ReplyDeleteThis year on Mothers' Day I was in another congregation and received a rose (as did all women and girls) as well as a tiny card.
Mine read du behövs which means you are needed and my heart broke because I've been being pushed out of ministry for the last 18 months and this was a real word from God to my heart. I am needed.
2. Do you have a current vision / dream for your work/ family/ministry?
yes (grin)
3.Money is no object and so you will.....
start a retreat centre esp for those who are burnt out in ministry - so they can get back to that point of intimacy with God and allow Him to restore the ability to rest IN Him
4. How do you see your way through the disappointments? What keeps you going?
Hard one this. At times I don't and it's oh so tempting to give up.
God keeps me going. Keeping my eyes on Him and remembering (and reminding myself) that He is my own living Hope is the best way I know!
5. How important are your roots?
No idea. Not that important anyway.
I've got company so first: Happy Birthday! which I missed and second, I am about to take the Lovely Daughter to get her wisdom teeth removed instead of playing the Friday Five, but I have been engaged in a lot of looking back in the several entries entitled Getting Here here. Haven't reached looking forward yet.
ReplyDeleteGlad this was posted early. I was able to play here before leaving work and heading for the sack. Thanks.
ReplyDeleteI played BEFORE I hauled myself upstairs to the elliptical. Here it is
ReplyDeleteThanks Sally.

ReplyDeleteI really, really, wish we could edit comments
ReplyDeleteI played even though I am much more focused on the release of Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows.
If there is any link in this comment, even if it is a date, it will probably take you to my blog. I am giving up trying to get it "right"
My first time! Here is my response.
ReplyDeleteSo I played here
ReplyDeleteLate to the party but I'm just feeling tired and spent today. Here's my "play"

famous people (and not) in my family tree...
ReplyDeleteI'm having internet connectivity problems today and can't stay connected to the server long enough to play. :(
ReplyDeleteBut I'll enjoy looking at more of yours after I get this problem fixed (Monday probably)! Bye for now!
Just played here
ReplyDeleteI really enjoyed this one!
I played here.
ReplyDeleteSally, good job! I love that roadsign image. Here's my play.
ReplyDeleteRunning late today, but here are mine.
ReplyDeleteWell, better late than never I guess...
ReplyDeleteI'm a day late, but I played here.
ReplyDeleteI keep logging on hoping that the Preachers' Party might have started...but you're all too busy sleeping off Harry Potter, aren't you?
ReplyDeleteI guess in a minute procrastination may triumph, and I'll do the Five. Will let you know as and when...but meanwhile, I have a date with Mary Mag ;-)
I was hoping that there would be greenies at the preacher's party. My human doesn't have a Harry Potter book yet, and she's kind of grouchy. I'm just sayin'.
ReplyDeleteI love this. I played (even though it is Saturday) and I'm new to this so I couldn't figure out how to add a hyper-link =/. But you can find my answers on my blog.
ReplyDeleteI've done it in celebration of a finished sermon, over here
ReplyDeleteVery therapeutic :-)
