Friday 5- looking back, looking forward

When I began work here at Downham Market a wise friend told me that after one year I would see a few changes and sense God at work- years two and three would cause me to question and to wonder why I had chosen to accept the post here and in year four I might see the beginnings of something new.

And so with that in mind alongside yesterdays celebrations I bring you Friday 5 Looking back, looking forward..

1. Share a moment/ time of real encouragement in your journey of faith

2. Do you have a current vision / dream for your work/ family/ministry?

3.Money is no object and so you will.....

4. How do you see your way through the disappointments? What keeps you going?

5. How important are your roots?

6. Bonus= what would you like to add ?
Let us know in comments if you play. If you're feeling up to it, post a direct link to your blog entry in your comment using the following formulation:
what you want the link to say goes here

  13. 1. Share a moment/ time of real encouragement in your journey of faith

This year on Mothers' Day I was in another congregation and received a rose (as did all women and girls) as well as a tiny card.

Mine read du behövs which means you are needed and my heart broke because I've been being pushed out of ministry for the last 18 months and this was a real word from God to my heart. I am needed.

    2. Do you have a current vision / dream for your work/ family/ministry?

    yes (grin)

3.Money is no object and so you will.....

start a retreat centre esp for those who are burnt out in ministry - so they can get back to that point of intimacy with God and allow Him to restore the ability to rest IN Him

    4. How do you see your way through the disappointments? What keeps you going?

Hard one this. At times I don't and it's oh so tempting to give up.

God keeps me going. Keeping my eyes on Him and remembering (and reminding myself) that He is my own living Hope is the best way I know!

    5. How important are your roots?
No idea. Not that important anyway.

  14. I've got company so first: Happy Birthday! which I missed and second, I am about to take the Lovely Daughter to get her wisdom teeth removed instead of playing the Friday Five, but I have been engaged in a lot of looking back in the several entries entitled Getting Here here. Haven't reached looking forward yet.

If there is any link in this comment, even if it is a date, it will probably take you to my blog. I am giving up trying to get it "right"

  32. I keep logging on hoping that the Preachers' Party might have started...but you're all too busy sleeping off Harry Potter, aren't you?
I guess in a minute procrastination may triumph, and I'll do the Five. Will let you know as and when...but meanwhile, I have a date with Mary Mag ;-)

  33. I was hoping that there would be greenies at the preacher's party. My human doesn't have a Harry Potter book yet, and she's kind of grouchy. I'm just sayin'.
