  2. Oh yeah, I forgot to add what I sang in church today.

As We Gather at the Table in our hymnal Wonder Love and Praise.

    Taize's Lord, Hear our Prayer.

Tell out my Soul was the closing hymn.
Where cross the crowded ways of life
(I love the hymn tune to this - my dad used to hum it and whistle it).
I know I am missing a few, but I left the order of worship on the pew!

  6. Thanks for the video images and song, Sally! I love "Tell out my Soul" and "I Want to Walk as a Child of the Light."

music in church this morning: for the introit/call to worship a HS boy who's both a son and grandson of the congregation offered a song he composed at a recent retreat and accompanied himself on the guitar--beautiful, expressive singing and playing rather than the atonal strums and grunts we sometimes get. Congregation sang "I Greet Thee, Who My Sure Redeemer Art" and stanzas 1&4 of "O Master, Let Me Walk with Thee." Choral group of folks from the chancel choir sang "I Surrender, Lord" for the special musuc/anthem.

  9. I love Be Thou My Vision. And I love when the verses are there rather than mixed up as in the Presbyterian Hymnal.

At traditional worship today we sang I Greet Thee Who My Sure Redeemer Art, Live Into Hope, and In Concrete Brick and Living Stone (a John Bell hymn to the tune Land of Rest). At alternative we sang All Creation, Hallelujah (the Brian Doerksen one), Take My Life (kinda jazzed up), and My Hope Is You. Good times. It was a good music morning! Children sang at the third service, the adult choir sang the Brubeck All My Hope....a good day.

I love coming here and finding out what everyone else did this morning! It's such a good community building thing. thank you.

  10. We sang Be Thou My Vision last week. We sang Come Thou Fount today. I love both of these. None of the other songs really stuck out at me today. But I love both of those.

  11. Teri, I enjoy hearing what every one else sings also -- it's always interesting to hear the variety, but also what hymns we sing that are the same.

  12. Be Thou [Now] My Vision is one of my favorite hymns ... and we sang it last week.

This week we sang two more of my favorites, "For the Beauty of the Earth" and "I Sing The Mighty Power of God".

After the sermon, it was "Called As Partners in Christ's Service".

The Commissioning Hymn: "Sent Forth By God's Blessing"
