Announcement! March 2008 Book Discussion

Announcing March 2008 book discussion and I think you will find this a wonderful resource. Bread And Wine: Readings For Lent And Easter, led by Songbird on March 24 is an anthology of writings by theologians such as C.S. Lewis, G.K. Chesterton and Dorothy Day. Contemporary authors also! The book includes Philip Yancey, John Updike, Frederick Buechner, Madeleine L'Engle, Henri Nouwen and Brennan Manning. And to round it out, Martin Luther, Meister Eckhart, and Thomas a Kempis - and these are not all of them either! Won't you join us?
Back to Wednesday Festival!

  1. This looks super. were out of stock but I managed to order it (secondhand) from elsewhere today :)

I also ordered the Jan book (though it will come after the discussion) - but it looks really interesting (and potentially useful)

Thanks for hosting these discussions RevGals. The December one was marvellous and I'm still getting a lot out of Wintersong!

  2. What a great idea! I used this book faithfully last year at the suggestion of Christine at Abbey of the Arts and it resulted in a tremendously meaningful Lent, so much so that I went looking for it last week so that I could use it again this year.

I will so look forward to this discussion.

  3. I literally JUST bought this book, got back from shopping, got on the computer, and discovered this is the one being discussed in March. How cool is that! I read the Advent version and loved it, so I'm looking forward to this one.

  4. I ordered a copy today. It will be interesting to hear what you all have to say about it. I would also suggest The Militant Word by Walter Bruggeman. He's a bit hard to read but has some very interesting ideas about preaching,
