Thy Grace is Sufficient
The Myth of Superwoman as the Enemy to Self Care
Led by Mary Marcotte
What if grace really is true?
We tell those we serve over and over the good news of God's grace – and then behave as if God – or at least the portion of God's people we serve – will love us more if we work harder/ better/faster/longer.
Come away for a time of spiritual reflection marked with laughter – and perhaps a few tears -- as we share our journeys as Christ's servants. We will confront some of the stereotypes that bind us so that we can be free to live into the higher calling and blessings of the gospel. There will be time for group conversations, small group discussions and personal journaling.
The retreat will take place on a cruise out of New Orleans, leaving Thursday, March 27 and returning Monday morning, March 31.
For a brochure with all travel details and a biography of our presenter, please e-mail will smama. There is still space available. The price of the retreat consists of the cost of the cruise and your travel to and from New Orleans, as well as any additional excursions you might choose in the port of call, Cozumel, Mexico.
There is no registration fee. The program expenses are being covered by RevGalBlogPals, Inc. For information on joining the non-profit group, please follow the links in the sidebar.
How many are already signed up? I know Dog Blogger and I are planning to attend. Anyone else?

ReplyDeleteI believe the sign-ups are in the 20's, m-l r, but we haven't gotten a complete list from the travel agent yet.
ReplyDeleteZorra and I are in!
ReplyDeleteI'm in!
ReplyDeleteWell, I signed up and paid my $25 but getting in touch with the travel agent to give them any more money has been rather difficult. I'm still planning on going at this point...
ReplyDeleteI want to go, but have some things pending, I'll know my availabilty sometime next week or shortly there after...then I can make plans for the Spring....
ReplyDeleteSigh...
ReplyDeleteI will think of all of you. And be grateful you get the time away. :) I will be preaching (I think - haven't seen the final schedule) the Sunday after Easter. It's "the intern" week.
However - I LOVE the title of the event. And (being ignorant) wondered if there were a book by the same title???

*sigh* Next time....
ReplyDeleteWill be thinking of you all.
looks lovely :)
ReplyDeleteHope you all have a refreshing time!
*sigh* I was signed up to go too, but had to cancel. The travel agent was kind enough to refund my $25 deposit which was a lovely surprising gesture.
ReplyDeleteWe will be moving sometime this year and selling our present home, so any extra money I might have spent flying from The Middle of Nowhere to New Orleans is now needed for home improvements and moving costs.
Next time...
plus, there's always the festival of homies in May!!
Gosh I would love to go on this trip, but that is our Spring Break week and I'll have my daughter at home. But I am planning good self care in that my family is going to take a 14 day Alaskan cruise in May. I don't think I have every taken 14 days off from anything =). I hope the trip is a blessing for you all.
ReplyDeleteMy friend and colleague Julie Beitelschees (both of us are ELCA clergy from the Toledo Ohio area) have just signed up for the cruise.
ReplyDeleteI've been reading the RevGal BlogPal's site for some time and when I start blogging, I look forward to becoming more involved.
In the meantime, looking forward to meeting many of you 29 days from now!
