Let It Be....

flickrfoto

Although it will be morning when most of us read this prayer, I offer it anyway, as beautiful prayer of letting go and letting God....

Night Prayer (source The New Zealand Prayer Book)

Lord,
it is night.

The night is for stillness.
Let us be still in the presence of God.

It is night after a long day.
What has been done has been done;
what has not been done has not been done;
let it be.

The night is dark;
Let our fears of the darkness of the world and our own lives rest in you.

The night is quiet.
Let the quietness of your peace enfold us,
all dear to us,
and all who have no peace.

The night heralds the dawn.
Let us look expectantly to a new day,
new joys,
new possibilities.

In your name we pray.
Amen.

  4. I came here this morning needing a prayer, and this one definitely fit the bill. Thanks.

    Anyone who's read my blog regularly knows that my mantra is let it go, let it go sung to the tune of "Let it Be" so when I saw your title I knew I was in the right place!

    (and that was me before, posting under the wrong account--I really shouldn't post from work--I use the wrong account 9 times out of ten!)

  5. It is impossible unless we turn off the TV to watch political mud-slinging and to be influenced. But the influence that most people experience right now is disgust. It is not about loving the neighbor it is about what the neighbor is doing wrong or will do wrong.... it is difficult to put it aside.

    Then along comes Jesus......
    and Jesus gives us this text...
    and we sigh...
    Oh Ok.
    My sermon title is Because I'm God and I said so...
    Blessings sisters.
