Renew or Join So You Can Vote!

The annual election of directors for RGBP Inc. has been set for the month of November by the board of directors. Three directors will be elected to serve two-year terms on the board. The four directors whose terms will continue another year are Songbird, Quotidian Grace, Teri Peterson and St. Casserole. The terms of Mary Beth Butler, Cathy Stevens and Abi will expire this year.

In order to nominate yourself or someone else for election you must renew (or join) by November 1. Dues are $25 for regular members, $10 for current students and $0 for members of religious orders with a vow of poverty. Check the sidebar of this blog to get an application to join or renew your membership. In addition to sending your check, you will see that dues can be paid by PayPal or by joining or renewing when you register for the Big Event 2. If you have questions about whether your membership is current or about joining or renewing, contact Treasurer Mary Beth Butler at marybeth AT unt DOT edu. Registration for the Big Event 2.0 includes corporation membership for 2009, so those who get their BE 2.0 deposit in by November 1 will be included in the electorate, too!

There are no term limits, so current Directors may nominate themselves or be nominated to serve another term.

Members who are eligible to vote as of November 1 will receive a proxy ballot by email which must be returned by December 7 at 5 pm. Membership will be verified by the Treasurer, Mary Beth Butler, and the qualifying votes counted and certified by the Secretary, Quotidian Grace. The current board will meet online to receive the results which will be reported on the blog.

E-mail your nominations to the chair of the Nominating Committee, Teri Peterson at tericarol AT gmail DOT com.

Please join or renew your membership now and send in those nominations for the board! The broader the participation in the election process, the more responsive your board can be to the membership.

  1. When we were discussing the BE plans it was suggested that the registration fee include a year's renewal--is that still the case or do registrants also need to pay a separate 25.00 for membership?

  2. BE Registration DOES cover the membership renewal! So your $100 deposit check for the BE will count toward renewing your membership in RGBP, Inc. And, handily, those deposits are also due on Nov. 1!

  3. Thanks, MB. Should this info be added to the main text so more people know it?

  4. Good suggestion, ML, I've taken care of it.
