Friday Five: Winter Olympics Edition

It's been two weeks of snow, or not enough snow, of heartbreak before the action even began, of snowboards and skis and skates, of joy and sorrow. At our house, we've stayed up too late, and we don't even watch sports any other time!

1) Which of the Winter Olympic sports is your favorite to watch?

2) Some of the uniforms have attracted attention this year, such as the US Snowboarders' pseudo-flannel shirts

and the Norwegian Curling team's -- ahem -- pants.

Who do you think had the best-looking uniforms?

3) And Curling. Really? What's up with that?

4) Define Nordic Combined. Don't look it up. Take a guess if you must.

(There will be a prize for the best answer, but be aware, this is a judged sport.)

5) If you could be a Winter Olympics Champion just by wishing for it, which sport would you choose for winning your Gold Medal?

Let us know in the comments if you play! You're likely to get more visitors to your blog if you link to your post, like so: what you want the link to say goes here For a complete how-to, click here.

  1. Not long after I scheduled this post, we lost power last night. I am sending this from my phone. I hope to play and visit later today, when electricity is restored!

  3. It's been a long time since I've played but this was a no brainer for me. I added my thoughts about last nights Ladies Free Skate...some of the best skating I've seen EVER and I've watched the Olympics well for a long time.

  10. I have tried to stay up to watch the Winter Olympics and, on some nights have watched at 4am! It makes for a very tired day at work afterward but ski cross made it all worth it.

    Read about it here.

  11. Forgot to say, while you are there, do have a look at my post on what to say when an atheist asks you to pray for them. I had no idea what to do and am still flummoxed. You can find the post here

  15. Brittany, I stayed up the first week, went to bed on time, mostly, the second.
Muthah+, we continue to be snow-deprived on the Maine coast. Now I'd just as soon move on to spring.
